Last weekend’s income was:
Offertory Collection: £468.00 & 2nd Collection: £450.00 (for Fr Chido). Many thanks for your generosity to the parish and clergy. Highly appreciated. Next Sunday is Mission Sunday and our second collection will be taken up in support of Missio Scotland.
Requiem Mass
--for the faithful departed in St Peter’s Cemetery Dalbeth, London Road, Glasgow; for all who are buried in the Local Cemeteries, or whose final committal was at Daldowie Crematorium on Sunday 5th November 2017 at 3.00pm. Car parking entry by the Good Shepherd gate. In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be offered in St Joseph’s Church Tollcross.
October Devotion 2017
We are having October devotions to Our Lady on Mondays and Wednesdays (throughout the Month of October) at 7pm. Our devotion begins each evening with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, rosary (with litany) and finally benediction.
Halloween Party on Saturday 28th October 2017
Tickets are now on sale for the annual Halloween Party in St Martin Hall.
Mary’s Meals
Mary’s Meals would want to thank all our parishioners for your generosity towards their last month’s fund raising and textile collection in our parish. Your contribution raised the most generous of £1, 022.01 (£635 from the offertory collection; £220 from raffle tickets sold; and £167.01 from other monetary donations)
Mass of Remembrance (Month of Holy Souls)
…will be offered for all deceased parishioners of the past year on Thursday 2nd November at 7pm. November lists is available the porch. Please return lists to church (sacristy) or church house. The families, and all parishioners are invited to the Hall for a light refreshment after the Mass.
The Flourish (October Edition)
The October edition of The Flourishthe Archdiocesan newspaper is available. Please collect your copy from the back of the church.
SSVP Conference Lunch.
The SSVP Conference of St Martin's invites all our older parishioners to a Lunch at Ballagan Garden Centre on Wednesday the 22nd of November at 130 p.m.  If you wish to go please append your name to the list at the back of the Church indicating whether you require transport and choice of meal. Thank You.
The Round £1 coin ceases to be legal tender after 15th October 2017
As you may know, the round £1 coin is no long legal tender after midday on 15 October 2017. Please take note therefore that after this date any contribution(s) with the above will not adequate as the banks may no longer accept them. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.
Newman Association (Glasgow Circle)
Newman Association: “What the Early can teach us”. A talk by Joe Fitzpatrick. The Ogilvie Centre, St Aloysius’ Church, Rose Street, Glasgow, G3 6RE at 7.30pm on Thursday 26th October 2017. All welcome. Non-members: admission £3—includes refreshments. 
Persecution of Christians in Maldives.
GOING ON HOLIDAY? BOYCOTT THE MALDIVES Catholics in the Maldives have few rights, but now, the government is ignoring the law, leaving Christians in an even more vulnerable state. One-third of all lawyers suspended, Muslims banned from becoming Christians, 50 Maldivians arrested and tortured being suspected of having become Christians. Any Maldivian even found to have a Bible in their house faces a prison sentence. Any comments against “any tenet of Islam is being criminalised. Catholics suffer because of laws preventing them openly living as Christians, and now the government is simply ignoring even the few legal freedoms they do have.
The Summit
Calling all YOUNG PEOPLE! If you are in P7—S6 then this invite is for you. Join the RCAG Youth Team for an afternoon of FUN FREINDHIP, FAITH and MORE! This monthly event will give you the chance to learn more about our Catholic faith, make new friends, have some fun, eat good pizza, and celebrate Holy Mass. WE kick off this Sunday, the 8th of October, in Blessed John Don Scotus Church, Ballater Street, Gorbals, G5 0YT  & will run from 2pm—5pm with Mass at 3.15pm. Any questions please get in touch with Do not forget to collect tour consent/registration form from your parish priest and bring it along with you on the day. (Alternatively guardians of under 16’s can complete consent form on arrival and over 16’s can register on site. Dates bellow: 12th Nov / 10th Dec / 14th Jan / 11th Feb / 13th May / 10th June.    
Italian Mass
The Annual Mass for the members and friends and Scottish Italian Community will take place in St Andrew’s Cathedral on Thursday, 2nd November 2017 at 7pm. Archbishop Tartaglia will be the main celebrant. As in previous years, the girls of Notre Dame High School will provide the music. All welcome.
